  • What is Misc. Rework?

Posted on October 8, 2011 by Alisdair Smith

While trying to think of a jazzy name for what is in fact quite an unsexy and often dirty service that we offer, I drew a blank - just what catchy title do you give to replacing surface-mount and through-hole components like Nvidia GPUs, DC Power sockets on laptops, USB Data connectors on TOM TOM Satnav, or Charging sockets on Nintendo DS Lites? Well I'm open to suggestions, but maybe the fact is that our no-nonsense business ethos shouldn't promote the kitsch - perhaps the general (unsexy) title 'Misc. Rework' is best (if a little vague). So how about a nice handy list of things we can fix with 'Misc. Rework'? (the list isn't exhaustive...)-
    • SATNAV & GPS (TOM TOM, Garmin) broken or worn power sockets.
    • Laptop power connector sockets.
    • Broken USB PORTS on laptops.
    • Broken power socket connectors on Nintendo DS Lites, Fuse replacement for the 'red light, screen doesn't come on' problem.
    • Snapped USB Memory Sticks (or Pen Drives, USB Flash Memory, USB Hard Drives, et cetera...).
    • HP DV6 (Nvidia chipset) black screen fault.
The great thing about all of this is that all of the above work is done in our colwyn bay computer repair workshop and never outsourced - so no waiting for your equipment to be sent off and then for it to be returned when using an un-skilled middleman who will only serve to delay your repair and make a quick buck for no work... Give us a call on 01492 818 201 and speak direct to the real experts....
